!!! (pronounced "Chk Chk Chk") is an American dance-punk band that formed in Sacramento, California, in the fall of 1996, when members of the local groups Black Liquorice and Pope Smashers merged, joined by hardcore vocalist Nic Offer of The Yah Mos. The name was inspired by the subtitled click-consonant sounds in the film The Gods Must Be Crazy. !!! built a reputation for funk-driven, disco-rooted dance-punk and high-energy live shows. After a self-titled 2000 debut, they broke through with Louden Up Now (2004) and the acclaimed Myth Takes (2007), followed by albums including Thr!!!er (2013), Shake the Shudder (2017), and Let It Be Blue (2022). The group is now based in New York City.
