Born Jeffrey Atkins in Queens, NY (Feb 29, 1976), Ja Rule was the flagship artist for Irv Gotti's Def Jam-affiliated Murder Inc. label and one of the most commercially successful rappers of the early 2000s. Major hits include "Always On Time," "Mesmerize," "Wonderful," "Livin' It Up," and "Put It On Me." Albums include Venni Vetti Vecci (1999), Rule 3:36 (2000), Pain Is Love (2001), and R.U.L.E. (2004).
