Marcel Smith is a Sacramento gospel/soul vocalist recruited into local blues band the Soul Prophets in 1986, which grew into one of Sacramento's top blues acts and won a 1993 SAMMIES Best Blues Band award (shared with Little Charlie and the Nightcats). Smith is a 2016 Sacramento Blues Society Hall of Fame inductee and now serves as SBS President; his gospel roots trace to joining Willie Washington's WD Gospel Singers in 1994, and his second album 'From My Soul' was released in 2023 on Little Village Foundation. Member band of the Sacramento Blues Society.
