MJ Bones is a New Haven, Connecticut songwriter and ukulele player who records lo-fi, DIY folk under the self-coined "grrlfolk" banner, with strong midwest-emo and antifolk leanings. Using they/them pronouns, MJ Bones builds songs around ukulele, vocals, and dreamy harmonies, and is also one half of the project HATERS. Their Bandcamp catalog spans roughly a dozen releases, including the album Manic Pixie Nightmare (2022) and the EP "dead boy walking."
