Monster Treasure is a three-piece rock band from Stockton, California (greater Central Valley/Sacramento orbit). The group formed in 2011 when high-school friends Briana (guitar, vocals), Rachel (bass, vocals), and RJ (drums) reconnected in Stockton. They describe their sound as "fuzzy mermaid punk" — hazy melodies, scuzzy distorted guitar, and harmony-laden hooks. Their self-titled debut was issued on Brooklyn label Harlot and later in the UK on Leisure & District Records, followed by a second album, II (October 6, 2017). They have played venues across the Stockton/Sacramento area and beyond, including Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco.
