“Anti-Flag was one of American punk's most outspoken political bands, formed in Pittsburgh in 1988 around drummer Pat Thetic and frontman Justin Sane. Over more than a dozen albums — from Die for the Government and The Terror State to the major-label The Bright Lights of America — they paired fast, melodic street punk with explicitly anti-war, anti-corporate, and human-rights messaging, frequently sharing their stage and merch tables with organizations like Amnesty International. The long-running lineup added guitarist Chris Head and bassist Chris #2 (Chris Barker). The band abruptly disbanded in July 2023 after multiple sexual-assault allegations were made against Sane; the other members publicly condemned him and ended the band, and no reunion has been announced.”
