“Barren Path is a grindcore band based in Kyoto, Japan, formed after the dissolution of Gridlink. The lineup features Takafumi Matsubara and Bryan Fajardo (both ex-Gridlink), Maruta/Shock Withdrawal vocalist Mitchell Luna, and grindcore musicians Mauro Cordoba and Rory Kobzina. Their debut LP "Grieving" dropped October 31, 2025 on Willowtip Records — an onslaught of mincing, precise volleys of melodic and dissonant passages. This date is part of their West Coast MMXXVI tour, sharing the bill with Sacramento melodic post-metal quartet Oceans of Ash and death metal legends Gigan.”
