“Head Automatica is a Brooklyn-based rock project fronted by Glassjaw vocalist Daryl Palumbo. Born from Palumbo's interest in hip-hop and Britpop sensibilities that didn't fit Glassjaw, the band's 2004 debut Decadence — co-produced by Dan "The Automator" Nakamura — landed somewhere between dance, garage, and post-punk and surprised post-hardcore fans expecting Palumbo's heavier work. The 2006 follow-up Popaganda, produced by Rick Rubin, leaned into more aggressive synth-rock. After nearly two decades of relative dormancy, the band returned in 2024 with new single "Bear the Cross" and has been touring the Decadence catalog to long-time fans.”
