“The HIRS Collective is a Philadelphia-based queer punk musical collective founded in 2011, blending queercore, grindcore, mathcore, and hardcore punk into short, volatile songs with a defiant political core. Their 2023 LP "We're Still Here" (Get Better Records) spans 17 tracks and over 35 guest musicians and vocalists, including Shirley Manson of Garbage. Fully self-produced and self-managed — the title and message are the thesis: the queer community is still here, and loud about it.”
