“Iress headlines the Starlet Room with Nightosphere on support — a night of heavy, atmospheric, emotionally-drenched noise. Iress formed in Los Angeles in 2010 around vocalist/guitarist Michelle Malley (dubbed "the Adele of Doom" by the LA scene), guitarist Graham Walker, bassist Michael Maldonado, and drummer Glenn Chu. Their 2024 LP "Sleep Now, In Reverse" (Dune Altar / Church Road Records) is the band's breakthrough — a doomgaze record that welds Beach House and Slowdive ethereality to Windhand-scale crush, partially tracked live to preserve their singular dynamic range. Support from Nightosphere — brooding, melodic, slowcore-adjacent heaviness that pairs naturally with Iress's vocabulary.”
