“KES (also Kes the Band) is a Trinidadian soca powerhouse formed in 2005, fronted by lead vocalist Kees Dieffenthaller alongside brothers Jon (rhythm guitar) and bassist Riad Boochoon, with Dean James on drums. Their sound mashes soca, calypso, R&B, reggae, rock, and EDM into one of the most distinctive live shows in the Caribbean diaspora. Kees was crowned T&T's International Groovy Soca Monarch in 2011 with "Wotless," and the band's 2017 single "Hello" has become the most-streamed soca song of the past decade with over 42 million YouTube views. In 2020, they teamed with Iwer George to win the T&T International Soca Monarch and Road March titles. The Sacramento date is part of the band's "Roots, Rock, Soca Tour."”
