About
“Nixil is a black metal band from Baltimore, Maryland, formed in 2019 and signed to Prosthetic Records. Their sound pulls from the weirder edges of Mayhem and the atmospheric expansiveness of the French avant-garde scene, twisted together through occult psychedelia, the filthy spirit of crust punk, and snaking, melodic riffs. Lyrically, the band channels themes of anti-cosmic occultism, anti-nomianism, and liberation — a manifestation, in their own words, of chaos, rage, strength, and despair. After two well-received full-lengths — All Knots Untied (2021) and From the Wound Spilled Forth Fire (2023) — Nixil released a split LP with Portland's Drouth titled Toward Dead Temples on April 24, 2026. The Sacramento date is part of their West Coast run supporting that release.”
