“smokedope2016 is a Virginia-born rapper and producer credited with a dreamy, nostalgic resurgence of cloud rap. Heavy auto-tune, ethereal beats, and a famously face-blurred public persona (across album covers, videos, and social media) have drawn frequent comparisons to Black Kray, Eric Dingus, and Yung Lean and made him a focal point of the underground in the mid-2020s. He left a welding job for a full-time music career in summer 2024; the 2026 PEAK Tour supports a trilogy of albums — "THE COMEUP," "THE PEAK," and "THE COMEDOWN."”
