About
“Souls of Mischief is an Oakland hip-hop quartet — A-Plus, Opio, Phesto, and Tajai — formed in 1991 as part of the larger Hieroglyphics collective. Their 1993 debut "93 'Til Infinity," released on Jive Records when the members were still teenagers, is one of the canonical West Coast rap albums of the era — laid-back, jazz-flecked, and absurdly quotable. The title track''s video (the first hip-hop video ever filmed at Yosemite National Park) cemented the group as a Bay Area institution; later albums "No Man''s Land," "Trilogy: Conflict, Climax, Resolution," and "Montezuma''s Revenge" kept them in the conversation across three decades. The June 5 Concerts in the Park appearance is part of Sacramento's 33rd annual free Friday-night series, with openers Bugbee x J. Sirus, ¡SOOKIE!, and EDDY.”
Legendary Bay Area hip-hop crew Souls of Mischief headline one of the nine free Friday nights in the 33rd Concerts in the Park season.
